The thing about being mediocre

The thing about being mediocre

Here's the thing

You make me want to drop you off the earth with that mediocre s**t

We all know something or someone that's the epitome of it

We all know something that's....

We've all eaten something trying too hard that's the most hyped up dish that's...

Anyway

Where do I begin?
Music isn't a bad place to start is it
This isn't
Look, I'm of that age
No one can touch a classic like this
Beastie Boys was a whole new world
This track has to be my all-time fave
It just screams rebellion and I play it full belt when it's on
The epitome of style and cool
The never ending love affair with this song, iconic, stimulating and beautifully sung.
This
This new vibe
Fresh from
HULL
OUR
Hull City Of Culture
This goddess on this all-time classic, never to be touched show!
A different world
Sorry mum, if this was on late at night I think I snook down to watch it!
Music, culture, life lessons and reality
A different world really opened my eyes and now and again I think back to the feelings I had attached tot hat show, the time, the era and fulfilment from it

You see mediocre is the biggest fucking rip off of our time!
Come on..be honest

Bland shit like this
What the f**k is going on, how are our kids growing up listening to this?
Watching shit like this

Reading
VICE
Vice used to be a solid, good info, sharp read
Now it's, you guessed it..
VICE
has become 'The Onion of satire in the industry
what was hardcore, well respected journalism has died

Much like
NME
their relentless Liam crap drown, sunk and has seen readers leave in droves
Back when I was a kid, I couldn't stop thinking about music
Smash Hits was a good read, I'd do anything to buy NME which then was like a paper
DJ magazine was something I'd save for
What are we teaching now?
What lessons are learned in music?

Not even sorry but that drab, numb, one tone shit doesn't come close
Hipster, lifeless, pastel shot video are...
Unlike this

I bet an ex is going to try to take credit for my taste's because he's...
No thanks
This mesmerizing man

This isn't...
'You my son haven't ain't been to the mountains in ages

Beats bus

Hello and welcome back
Today's blog brings you
Hull Beats Bus

Haven't heard of Hull Beats Bus?
That's alright, today's blog is dedicated to them.

Some facts

A team of award-winning hip-hop and graffiti artists from Hull are taking hip-hop workshops into schools and festivals
                                 • The true spirit of hip-hop with hip-hop history
                       • Inspiring young minds with song writing and rap workshops
                         • Learn how to scratch some of the biggest hip-hop beats
                          • Bring out your inner b-boy with breakdancing classes
                                                • Get creative with graffiti art
                                           • Get your original tracks recorded
                    • Develop your confidence via the positive expression of music
The Beats Bus is put together of core members
Firstly
Steve aka Redeye
Steve's well known throughout the City, he's a huge hit for his musical talents.
Playing at events such as Humber Street Sesh.

That links me to Nigel
Nigel hails from EndOfLevelBaddie
Which personally I adored, If you know EndOflevelBaddie you'll know Nigel and Scott
Nigel has moved on to new ventures which involves Hulls Beat Bus

Then too Nick Horsfield
Nick's talent is all over the city.
I've known Nick quite some time and shared a great day watching De La Soul In York
I believe Nick was doing live graffiti on that day also.
If you're a fan of
Dope Burger, Sesh and Graffiti
you'll know Nick

Fast T, who is a tutor
I know little about Fast T but I do know he's a talented man.
I know that he's clearly confident and I have seen his face at all the major gigs and transport people with his music into something of a stupor.
This is indeed my kind of vibe!
Then this collaborative...
Lush, mellow, chilled and soulful.

Then we move to Dave Okwesia
I've never met Dave but he turned up at the meeting with Redeye and it all unravelled
Dave been involved in many things, you'll find him on Hull's spring bank.

It's fundamental to know the roots of these guys, Beats Bus is a collaborative of many talents brought together to help bring communities
together.

Arco a local company invested in Hulls Beat bus
Listening to Redeye their latest up and coming event is going to be held for 120 volunteers that have been guiding all the visitors through 2017 our year, our city of culture 2017.
The day will be full of
Dj sessions, breakdancing, songwriting and graffiti, some soulful confidence building. Reaching out to ages from as young as sixteen to people in seventies.

The ethos and roots are about reaching out to people, investing in children who are often left out of society and don't have the money or resources to be involved.
Bringing communities together to battle against violence.

Beat's bus also is involved in many schools projects including Priory Road, Hall Road & Ainthorpe.
The result was a really inspiring production at Freedom festival
Firstly, how beautiful is this!
Total amazing vibes.. Huge love to those children!

Music is an integral part of life, sadly music and art are being cut from many school curriculums.
Music is expressive and creative so I feel Beats Bus is a great asset to the city and hopefully the country!

There are four key elements to Beats Bus
.djing
.Breakdancing
.Graffiti
.Mc'ing
and of course knowledge

Investment is always good, connecting, collaborating and growing
