Belgravia Flower Show 2019 is proud to announce the launch of
The Botanist Garden at Boisdale of Belgravia on Monday 20th May and sponsored by
The Botanist Islay Dry Gin to be officially opened by televison and media personality Georgia Toffolo.
Since 1913 every
May London has celebrated the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in the grounds of
the Royal Hospital Chelsea. In recent years, coinciding with the nearby
Chelsea Flower Show, Belgravia in Bloom also
takes place in shops, bars and restaurants around Belgravia and this
year the Scottish restaurant Boisdale will be hosting its own flower
spectacular expertly staged by notable florist
Lucy Vail, best known for her bold use of colour and theatrical floral ceilings.
The Botanist Garden
will be a celebration of The Botanist Islay Dry Gin and Boisdale of
Belgravia’s Scottish heritage portrayed through a brand new foraged gin
cocktail menu and the restaurant’s floral installation
of natural foliage and florals inspired by the 22 hand foraged
botanicals from the Isle of Islay, the
southernmost of the Inner Hebrides islands and home of The Botanist.
Wild Highland
foliage, fragrant florals, blooms and roses will adorn The Botanist
Garden to create a botanical masterclass and fill the restaurant with
fresh spring scents, whilst guests enjoy a selection
of perfectly served foraged gin cocktails devised in collaboration with
The Botanist throughout the months of May and June alongside the finest
British produce.
The Botanist Garden
will see excitement levels peak during the week of the Chelsea Flower
Show with national press, the Boisdale friends and community of writers,
thespians, rock stars and business leaders
enjoying foraged gin cocktails and Scottish canapes to the sounds of
live jazz, courtesy of a trio of London’s finest musicians at the launch
party on Monday 20th May.
Stephen Busby,
Boisdale of Belgravia’s GM comments, “Flowers genuinely create
happiness. In every culture, in every country, and in every generation,
they have always lifted our mood, so I’m thrilled to be
hosting the Belgravia Flower Show in my restaurant. When it comes to
enjoying life in London it doesn’t get much better than decadent
interiors filled with flowers, excellent food, superb drinks (being
British gin is my particular favourite!) and great live
music for which we are famous.”
Notes to Editors:

British restaurant, providing an eclectic environment celebrating the
very best of Britain’s heritage through

and Bishopsgate, the restaurants have a unique atmosphere in which to

with Boisdale Belgravia, Boisdale of Mayfair and Canary Wharf also

About The Botanist Islay Dry Gin:
Small
batch and hand-crafted, this fascinating, delicious gin uses nine
classic gin botanicals, with the addition of 22 others foraged from the
windswept heather hills, peat bogs and Atlantic
shores of the island. Blended with skill, these elements are
beautifully balanced in this fragrant and floral gin. Conceived,
distilled & hand-crafted on the Island of Islay. The Botanist is a
gin of layered complexity. A progressive exploration of the botanical
heritage of our Isle of Islay. 22 hand-foraged local botanicals
delicately augment nine berries, barks, seeds and peels during an
achingly slow distillation. This first and only Islay dry gin is a rare
expression of the heart and soul of The Botanist’s remote
Scottish island home.
