Hello and welcome back to
                      The Early Bird Eater.

I have been really busy renovating my new place and then had a delivery from my friend Emily.

Baked her and her mum Diane Pinder who are partners in the Wooden Spoon a mother daughter combination.

Emily has been the catering industry for quite a while and works in a Hull bakery.

I have worked with Emily and she has a passion that is admirable food customer service and without a doubt a beautiful hand at baking and cooking.

May I introduce The Wooden Spoon and show you some of their produce.

If you would like updates They have a social media page via Facebook here is the link

The loaf was wrapped like you had been to the bakery it smells and looks good.
Unwrapping the loaf I hoped I would see something different it smelt light sundried tomato can be overpowering at best and I hoped that would not happen here.

The combination of all flavors is a fine balance so I cut the loaf it was light, smelt lush and fresh. It ate like a cloud and I can imagine it well toasted with cheese and ham.

A true talent for bread making is keeping the knot shape and it baking well.

This loaf did that.... I want more and more and so should you.

Then to the brownie.
I have a thing for a sweet but up most chocolaty coco deep taste without the ping your teeth get with too much sugar.
It cut great and the slice was more than enough you'll feel more than happy with a combination of the brownie and coffee.

Soft moist and decedent.
Coffee cake can be a love or hate.
I knew after seeing The Wooden Spoons bakes that it would be light.
Although I am not kean on frosting I am kean on coffee cake.
A small cake presented pretty with chocolate coffee beans sat well.
I would recommend this cake it's not heavy it's not over sugary it's deliciously moreish.

An afternoon of tasting
The Wooden Spoons goods was really a happy one.

Hello and welcome back
New and old readers.

I wanted to introduce
DOPE BURGER

If your old school you'll remember a shop called Rock Not Pop on Anlaby Road near Tower Nightclub in Hull.

If not it's near what was Tokyo Nightclub.
A little shop not so hidden away any more.

Dope burger is run by the soul owner Oliver Johnson.
You'll see Dope covered in a cool street art
graffiti done by Nick Horsefeild
AKA Hull Graffiti.
See the links below for more information on
Hull Graffiti.

Nick brings the street vibe to a small space giving it an authentically Dope like feel.
Here are a few images of Hull Graffiti's work
residing at Dope Burger.

I'm always looking for the next big thing, what's new what's good where to eat and what people are talking about food wise.
So many people had mentioned
DOPE BURGER
on Faceboook so I couldn't not go.

After contacting Oliver I was really excited because I have tasted the best to really and honestly some bad burgers.
That are stacked to fill rather than something with an honest simplistic honest taste and look.

There are times when the both do not meet and not even close.
A good burger in a bad bun or a bad burger in a good bun.
That's not even starting on fillings or sides.

Dope Burger aims to please with an open kitchen cooked to order the smell takes over when it's being cooked.

Oliver is pretty laid back but you can tell the man has a real love for his food and what he's about to give you to eat.

Hailing form the likes of Willerby Manor at the tender age of fourteen.
To The Village Hotel also including Pipe And Glass which is high on the food radar for the most impressive eating in Hull.
You can imagine he knows a thing or two about food.
Food, styles, textures and tastes along with what people want is exactly what Oliver knows about
in this ever changing food industry.

That's something to be admired.

Dope burger celebrates the
BLACK AND BLUE
burger seen in the photos.

The burger is not heavy not greasy and not too much on your pocket.

Dope has it made a light bun, a burger you'll mop up and want again with the added bonus of a unique DOPE sauce.

The menu includes more then burgers though
Dope Dogs are on the list too along with Fried chicken, sweet potato fries blue cheese slaw and a chorizo potato salad.
There's more but I want you to go down and see for yourself.

Future plans include street food after having a great and successful stand at a festival in Hull with desserts Oliver told me he'd like to go back with the burgers.

Personally I'll think he'll kill it and sell out.
Humber Street Sesh will get a kick of what's good for it when Dope Burger starts grilling and serving.

Oliver has a great passion along with a great brand.

You'll be hard pushed to say you ate better!
What are you waiting for he's open now.

Dope is not an underrated name you'll learn to realise that's exactly what it is.
