Retro sweets have always been there
We've all enjoyed a sweet that takes us back to
childhood.
Personally when I was a child had a few great sweetshops I went to.
We had a local one in my town where
strawberry laces hung and there was a wooden
tray all boxed off for penny sweets.
Way to many that I can't remember them all.
Then my friends dad had a shop where he had paper thin sugary sheets for half a pence.
The best shop though was at the top
of my nanas street.
Nana would give me some money and I'd go down
by myself to get sweets.
I was a tiny child so everything was big
everything was exciting.
I remember looking up and seeing a lady who'd got all the sweets any child wanted.
I'd take them home and lay them on the kitchen island and nana would get me a bowl
I'd sit there for hours enjoying those sweets
