My partner reaches the tender age of forty five tomorrow and there's a tradition that I was not aware of of taking cake into work on your own birthday.

Little harsh to my thinking however I'll go with it.

Rather than buying something or making something easy like a tray of  Brownie or Rocky Road.

I went all out as the last cakes I made for his work went down a treat nothing came home with him.

Always a good sign I even had to go out and buy huge cake boxes for them....

They are red velvet inside.... it is the fact they are red or the world velvet is used?Velvet is such a morish decadent word isn't it...
